this, I am seriously upset by LJ's bullshit policy against depictions of breastfeeding. While I didn't delete my journal yesterday, I did just send this email:
Dear Six Apart and the entire LiveJournal team,
Recently I have become aware that numerous LJ accounts have been suspended for "obscenity" due to the use of icons depicting breastfeeding. These suspensions upset me and have forced me, for the first time, to consider abandoning my LJ account.
Breastfeeding is in no way obscene. It is a natural and healthy activity, one that is incredibly good for both the child and the mother. Throughout this country and the whole world, mothers are expected to breastfeed, and in enlightened places it is recognized that it is a perfectly fine activity to engage in anywhere, public or private. In California, where you are located, there are laws specifically protecting breastfeeding mothers from obscenity charges. I'm sure you know all of this; why does your policy seem to be totally contrary to that?
In any case, if I hear that perfectly healthy and completely inoffensive activities such as breastfeeding continue to be demonized and purged by your overly puritanical staff, I will not only give up my LiveJournal account, but I will do my best to convince everyone I know to do so as well. This is a very important issue to me, and your actions in regards to it disturb me greatly.
Thank you,
Ryan Freebern
If you agree, I urge you to send a similar letter to feedback@livejournal.com and express your displeasure. The best way to get them to change their policy is to let them know very clearly how we feel.
And if they refuse to change, yes, I will leave LJ, and yes, I will bug all of you to do the same.

You are taking a militant position and making threats. You don't get to just walk away if you don't feel like defending your view.
Why do you feel we need to rehash the debate here? It's all been said, and most likely by people more eloquent than I. All I'm doing is stating my position, making my views known to the people whose behavior is causing the debate (and to my friends list), and declaring what I'll do if things don't change. If you're looking for an argument, you'll need to look elsewhere.
I'm curious what you think is inappropriate. Telling 6A that I strongly disagree with their policy? Telling them that I don't want to use their service unless they change the policy? Or that I will encourage friends to also not use their service because of it?
