Pop!

We went shopping today for new luggage and clothing. Now we can look more presentable while in Italy! It is important to me to not look too shabby when we are in one of the fashion capitals of the world. I think I will cut a pretty decent figure now.

It rained all morning and was even sleeting at one point. Bleah.

When we got back to the car after shopping, Sarah noticed that one of our tires was flat. Groan. Luckily (or SUSPICIOUSLY), we were right outside the Sears auto center, and they fixed the flat for us for $19 in about 45 minutes. A sheetrock screw had gotten itself into our tire. Oof.

But all is well now. The weather is looking nice for tomorrow so I am hoping we can take our new bikes out for a good long ride. Hooray for spring!

that reminds me of the episode of Rugrats where they drive and drive into the middle of nowhere, and got a flat tire right outside of an auto mechanic's place... they planted spikes in the road... then Tommy and Chuckie climb up this big pile of tires!!! and all this other stuff happens, but mostly the tires.

That is funny, because while we were waiting for them to fix the flat, there was a Rugrats thing showing on the TV in the waiting room. But it was about herding ostrich.

How old are you? Many youngish (certainly up
to university age) Italians wear jeans
and denim jackets. I'm not sure if Invicta backpacks
are still a requirement, but a few years ago the
way to blend in would have been jeans, denim jacket,
Invicta backpack. If you're over, say, 30, this option
starts to feel less reasonable.

Re: fashion capital
I am 26, so smack dab in between college age and 30. We have a pair of backpacks, but they are not Invicta.

Re: fashion capital
In Italy, being a student at 26 is entirely possbile.

Even early to mid 30s is possible.
