Most fun date ever!

Sarah and I went on a date yesterday! It was a gorgeous day, temperatures in the mid 60s, so we dressed lightly and decided to spend some time outdoors.

At about noon, we went into Wakefield and got lunch. I had a chicken quesadilla (that is Spanish for "cheese deal") and she had a sub. We ate sitting on the little stone wall next to the church on Main St. and enjoyed the sun and fresh air.

Then we headed up to the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence. The park itself is beautiful and big and green and hilly and foresty, and the zoo was fantastic. Lots of neat animals and birds and reptiles. Since I had my brand-spankin'-new camera with me, and Sarah had our old one, we took a lot of photos, which you can see here. (That's the first photo collection update we've made since last September, since we're slackers.)

We stayed at the zoo for several hours, dodging crowds of people also enjoying the weather, and lots and lots of small children running helter-skelter. Then we headed north and found the Castle Cinema in west Providence.

The Castle Cinema is a small dinner theatre. Crazy Burger, which I raved about recently, has a small café attached to the theatre, and before, during, or after the show you can order anything from their wonderful menu. We saw Girl with a Pearl Earring and had a great dinner (sweet potato fries to die for, and oh! that raspberry key lime pie!). The movie was beautiful and touching and jam-packed with delicious metaphor.

Unfortunately, the Castle is rapidly failing and has been crying out for help for the last few weeks. They close on the 24th unless some saviour steps forward. It's too bad, because it's a really nice little cinema and they offer a lot in the way of independent movies and community involvement. However, it's relatively difficult to get to and there isn't much parking. I will be sad to see it go, even though we've only been there once.

Then we came home. It was the best date ever!

You should go to Crazy Burger! It's right near the Narragansett beach. Or better yet, you should go sometime with Sarah and me! Then it will be like a little party.

Aw. You're so lucky to have those opportunities, and smart enough to seize them. Yay dating your long time sweetie. Yay love. Yay yay yay.

Okay, I'll stop now.

Still, aw.

Really.

Stop.

Luckily there is still the original Crazy Burger location in Narragansett, so you still have a chance to try the raspberry key lime pie! And it is worth it!
