I just thought of a new twist on ego-searching. Instead of searching for my name, I tried searching for my birth date to see what came up. Along with a lot of information on concerts that took place on that date and a page from Jimmy Carter's presidental diary, I found a list of historical events that occurred on April 19th.
It's kind of eerie.
April 19, 1775 - Start of the American Revolution
April 19, 1943 - 2000 heavily armed Schutzstaffel troops with tanks burn the Warsaw, Poland ghetto.
April 19, 1960 - Korean peninsula divided at the 38th parallel.
April 19, 1961 - Failed U.S. invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs.
April 19, 1980 - I was born. Also, Alfred Hitchcock died of a heart attack.
April 19, 1989 - 47 U.S. sailors killed by an explosion in a gun turret on the USS Iowa.
April 19, 1993 - Fire-bombing of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas.
April 19, 1995 - Oklahoma City federal building bombed.
But then, I guess there are enough random bad occurrences throughout history that a list like this can be made for just about any given day.
