Wot I Did On My Weekend, by Ryan, age 6

On Saturday we went to Providence and visited Thayer Street. Every time we go there I want to move to Providence a little more. I love the atmosphere. Living on a college campus is nice, but living on a college campus in a beautiful city is nicer.

Sarah got a new stud for her nose-piercing. It has a pink jewel. It is v. cute.

Sunday we saw "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" (review at corknutmovies). I loved it. It was gorgeous and funny and frightening and exciting and it had beautiful music, of course. Sarah hasn't seen "Desperado" yet so we are getting that from the library soon.

I got my stitches out this morning and the dermatologist said that the mole is not cancerous but does have an Atypical Nevus, which means he wants to look at it again in February, and I should get checked all over at least once a year. Joy!

You know...
Sarah got a new stud for her nose-piercing.

That sentence alone filled my head with a lot of nasty images.

Also, I can relate to your feelings about Providence... It seems like every time I go anywhere on a trip, I instantly want to stop being wherever it is I am and be there instead. It happened again when I flew across the country to someone's wedding this weekend. Good luck dealing with your feelings in that area... It's not always easy. Have you been looking at jobs/houses/apartments/whatevers in Providence? Just to see what's available? It may be worth your while; even if you're not ready to move yet, it's good to know what's out there and at least sort of vaguely keep the dream alive. Maybe. :)

Re: You know...
Ha ha stud. I didn't even think of that.

I'm constantly looking for jobs in Providence. If I had one, I might be able to ride the bus to and from work every day, which would give me lots more reading time, and would drastically reduce the daily mileage on our car.

We've been considering moving to Providence after Sarah graduates, depending on the job situation. Boston is another possibility. Who knows?

Ooh ooh Boston!
You don't even want to get me STARTED on Boston! Beautiful, utterly beautiful. Granted, I've never driven there (and people who have don't have a lot of good things to say about it), but it is one of the most thrilling, beautiful cities I have been to in the United States, and the sense of history around just about every corner is almost magical for me. And I don't know if you'll believe me when I say this, but it kind of reminds me of Seattle in a lot of ways... It's just more, and with additional lobsters. Mmm, lobster.

Re: You know...
The best part is, the jewelry is actually called a 'nostril screw'.

Yes. :)
