I heard a song on the radio last night, "Get Low" by Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, that the DJ said was a new style of hip-hop called "crunk." He said it features "rowdy choruses" and "block-rocking beats," which seems kind of generic, but I liked the song.

I want more examples of this "crunk," but I'm not sure what to look for. Anyone have any knowledge in this area?

My first exposure to the term "crunk" came from crunk games, which is quite possibly the least appropriate use of the term ever, I am lead to believe. I think it's intentional.

the word "crunk" just conjures up a horrible crusty, gunky looking... something in my mind. hahaha, not sure what that something is though, i'll leave that to your imaginations.

i'll have to listen to the radio more often though, see if i hear any of this crusty music.

Hee hee. It sounds like the past tense of "crank" to me. "Right now I crank the handle" vs. "Yesterday, I crunk the handle."

Re: about the song....
Tom Waits is the epitome of what you are talking about; he is a god.
