How grand!

Disney-MGM Studios struck me as the most polished of the parks. Everything seemed more neatly laid out and, somehow, cleaner than the rest. The giant "Fantasia" wizard hat in the middle of the park was pretty darn impressive, too.

Overall, I think I enjoyed the rides in MGM more than rides elsewhere. With judicious FastPass-gathering, there was hardly a wait at any of them, and they were all very entertaining. The Tower of Terror only made me a little ill (the spooky beginning bit was lots of fun, but the plummeting part was less so), and Aerosmith's Rock 'n' Rollercoaster didn't make me sick at all, which surprised me (amount of sickness is how I tend to judge those types of rides). The Indiana Jones stunt show was excellent, and the Muppetvision 3-D movie was also lots of fun.

At the end of the day at MGM, we went (very early) to get seats for the Fantasmic! show that we were told was truly spectacular. We waited an hour and a half (the 10,000-occupancy stadium was full 45 minutes before the show was scheduled to start) and then the lights dimmed and the show started. Wow. What an absolutely stunning display of lights and lasers and fireworks and mechanical creations and acting. A good portion of the show was animated video projected onto sheets of water being sprayed into the air, which was really pretty (and damp), and some other highlights included a giant mechanical dragon, propane-fueled flames burning all across a big pool of water, and a big ol' boat with every Disney star dancing on it.

I sure thought the plummetting in The Tower of Terror was fun! Scary as heck, but fun.

And my family went to Fantasmic! after I had to leave, but my mother was absolutely raving about it. I hope I get the opportunity to go back someday.
