One annoying thing about Disney World is that it is so popular. There are probably at least 30 thousand guests in each park on any given day, possibly more. This makes every attraction packed to the gills, every line amazingly long, and every journey from place to place an awful exercise in dodging crowds. Add to that the fact that 90% of the people there have absolutely no crowd etiquette (want to stop and look at your map? Just stop dead in the middle of the path you're walking on and ignore everyone who's now forced to squeeze around you! Thirsty? Stand in the middle of a doorway, blocking it completely, while you take a chug from your water bottle! etc.) and you've got a veritable nightmare.

It was interesting that Epcot was the only park where I consistently saw people age 18 to 24 or so. Every other park was full of young kids, early teenagers, and parents, but hardly anyone my age. Epcot, on the other hand, had some people my age, but still not many. Most of the people in my age group that I saw were employees -- excuse me, "cast members." There were crowds of them at the nightclubs in Downtown Disney, as well, which wasn't unexpected.

I found it neat how the people who worked in each of the World Showcase countries were actually from those very countries. It added a nice touch of semi-authenticity to what was otherwise a glossy-tourism-brochure view of these places. But hey, everything about Disney is as glossy as possible, so I wasn't really surprised.

If anyone's interested, we put 40 photos from our trip online here for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Thank you! I have been trying to be at least a little bit clever with the titles. I have six more entries about Disney before I get back to my regularly scheduled programming.

The one year we went in December, it was only about 60 degrees out and the park was not busy at all. That was much nicer! But unfortunately, my dad works for a public school system so we only really get to go when he has vacation, so that usually means April.
