I think this line is mostly filler!

Yesterday the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Once More With Feeling soundtrack CD arrived in the mail. The Buffy musical episode was pure genius and the songs are all so wonderful that we just had to have the CD. So now it's in our collection and I'm glad.

Today, Sabbatum by Rondellus arrived. It's a collection of Black Sabbath songs played on renaissance instruments and sung in Latin. It's really pretty music and it goes along with Apocalyptica's Plays Metallica by Four Cellos in my collection, as another unique-interpretation-of-heavy-metal-music CD.

I also ordered the Chicago soundtrack (the new movie version, not the Broadway recording) because I loved hearing Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta Jones, and Richard Gere performing the songs.

I haven't been buying CDs as much lately as I used to, mostly because I've been pissed off at the RIAA for months, and also because I haven't had much disposable income. But now that I do, I'm trying to catch up on CDs that I really want, slowly. Because as much as I want to have the freedom to download songs for free, I also want to support artists and have the actual, physical albums on my shelf as well. Plus, deepdiscountcd.com has incredible prices and free shipping, so I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off.

At least you have CDs that you want. I want new music, but I can't even find any that I'm interested in buying. Everything's so boring these days. I can't even find any fringe artists that I really like lately.

Of course!
You had to order the Chicago soundtrack, since there's only one. All the rest are cast recordings! :)
However, I would highly recommend picking up a cast recording of the show, either the original 1975 cast or the 1996 Broadway revival cast so you can get an idea of the show rather than the movie. There are a number of very significant differences between them.
And, of course, you'll have to come see the revival when next you're in NYC. :)

I circumvent the RIAA problem by buying only things that aren't released on record labels belonging to the RIAA. This proves to be extremely simple for me.

Yes but all you can find on Austrian labels are polkas, flügelhorn solos, and The Sound of Music. HA ha!

Little do you know.

Look here, for example

Also, CDs I've ordered this year were from: Staalplaat, Mute Bank, Important Records, and XIII. Don't think any of those are in the RIAA.
