Today's highlights

Three highlights from today:

1. While sitting outside Dave's coffeehouse in Charlestown today, on a patio covered with various hanging flowers and flowering vines, mangofandango and I saw a hummingbird moth flitting from bloom to bloom and extending its long, silvery proboscis to drink the nectar. It was absolutely gorgeous, about the size of a large bumblebee, and bright orange.

2. On the way back from Dave's, Sarah and I decided to do some random house-hunting. This involved turning off the main road whenever we saw a 'house for sale' sign, and then driving through beautiful, twisty, narrow back roads until we found the house. While we only found a couple houses we liked, and they (upon later research) turned out to cost close to half a million dollars each, just exploring the Rhode Island countryside and daydreaming about the joys of home ownership (while purposefully ignoring its headaches) was lots of fun.

3. I just successfully, and for the first time, made some absolutely delicious-smelling basil pesto that will be part of our dinner tomorrow night. Mmm!
